Lately I’m playing DOOM again. Not the original DOOM, nor the famous DOOM 3. I’m playing DOOM RPG on my mobile phone! Until now the only games I enjoyed on my mobile phone were simple games like Tetris and some board games. All other games are simply not playable on a mobile phone (for me). So I was expecting not to like DOOM RPG either. But it turns out that the game is quite good! It is not just playable but it is also addictive. It also has a story better that the story DOOM 3 has! It is more elaborate. Maybe the story written for DOOM 3 by the famous scifi writer that was hired by Id Software, as used in DOOM RPG after all 😛

The “engine” is a not even DOOM but Wolf3D, which is sad since I have full 3D games on my mobile phone. I don’t know why they did it this way. Trying to run on low end phones?! I don’t know, this would be so “not Id”… Anyway as we all learned games are not graphics, and DOOM RPG is a fine game…
