After a redditor’s suggestion I found out about this new service called epocu.com, that helps with marketing your game through a new interesting idea. It is something like kickstarter but swapout money with social reach.
So what you basically do is create a project page and then set a goal number of supporters and a target date. A supporter is someone that will agree to have a post made (that he sets) on his social network on the target date. However that is only going to happen if the project achieves the goal number of supporters, otherwise nothing happens.
This way you can have a boost in your social reach on the day you release your game. I find it a very smart idea.
Bellow you can find my project page on epocu.com and a post I did on Reddit. If you like be a supporter!

Good day everyone! I am so glad to announce to you that I am taking part in the Ludum Dare October Challenge 2012! Me and Thanasis will be creating a new game from scratch in just 30 days, and make a dollar (at least hopefully!) out of it. Please have a look at our announcement post over at Ludum Dare’s website, and send us some love!
I have been spending quite some time the last months working on a port of the Sylphis3d game engine to the iPhone. I am now to a point that the thing works really nicely. I will not get into details about the changes that I did to the engine for the purpose (I will keep that for an other post), but I want to get the word out that it is final: WE ARE MAKING A GAME 😀
I don’t think I can stress out how excited I am about this. After too much struggling we finaly have an original consept, a good game design, and the team to make it true! The game is based on a wild idea I had some time ago, based on which we created a beautiful game concept. With the help of the artistic nature of Vangelis Bobolas and the soundscapes of the out-of-this-world music composer Thanasis Lightbridge, we are on the right track!
I can’t uncover much at the moment, but I believe we have something totally original and fun cooking in the oven 😉
